Dexter

Man .. This might be the first post I am blogging about my all time favourite star and series 'Dexter' . I dont have time to beautify it words . But holy shit! Whats with Brian Moser and Season 6, Episode 7 . They made it sound so freakingly stupid (Pardon my use of words like Debra :P LOL). But ain't it lame! Brian eating a burger , helping Dex kill the motel guy . I mean , what nonsense! Any other boring episode of Dexter was not this messy. Dex talks with his father and that sounds so real. I dont feel like his father exists in reality . But this is extremely insane . I had no where to vent this out since Vicku has not seen this episode yet and public forums give the 'spoiler alert' . Anyhow , my one week's wait for this episode could not have been a more DISASTROUS DEXTER!

Lullaby
Sleeping beside my mom and yet missing her. Strange feeling. Today I was getting so irritated with the snore of a person in the bus journey. Now, my mom is snoring too. I m making a tune out of the patterns in her snore and singing myself a lullaby ! Weirdo!!!

Bus Journey
I usually travel from Mysore to Bangalore on weekends . This time I traveled during mid week due to the festivals. I tend to observe people on the bus journey . The way they speak , behave in a public place, talk over the phone , talk to others, listen to music, be a poseur , try to seek attention et al. The very unique and weird creatures are the IT people (like me). They are always on the phone talking to their better halves(note the plural) or just ear glued to their iPods. Some strike a conversation with me talking about their training tenure. Some play loud music on their phone speakers thinking that others might like their taste of music.
Now coming to yesterday's journey, the people in my focus were a bunch of villagers sitting right in front of me, two college going kids and a foreigner.
The college kids were staring at me throughout the journey like I was an alien. I ignored them and had a tight sleep with my head hanging over like a coconut .
I woke up only during the mid break at Maddur and just walked out of the bus in those hazy eyes and had some coffee. The foreigner was handsome. He wanted some coffee, so he directly went to the coffee bar and asked for one. The guy there guided him to get a coupon in local language. The foreigner just walked back to the bus . I wanted to help him though . But did not proceed. He had a amazing Canon gear. He was clicking almost every damn thing he saw. I had no clue what he was doing that for . I somehow adore these foreigners, the way they carry themselves and their attitude.
The bunch of villagers were chatting throughout the journey at their highest tones. They were stinking with the smells of the meadows . I slept despite their talks and the best part is that anything that they spoke were converted or heard like some talks related to my project like DLD, project management, team meeting, plans etc.
One conversation I heard when I was awake was :
Villager 1 : alla, ee vidyut tanthi olage current irathe. train hodre adu shock hodiyalwa ? ( Wont the electric trains get electrocuted because there is current passing through the wires ? )
Villager 2 : (The wise one) : illa kanLa, shock hoDiyalla. oLage sutch irthaythe. bekadre light hakothare . ( No , there wont be any shock. There is a switch inside which they can turn on for lighting purposes).
After sometime we reached Bangalore and they see the metro under construction :
Villager 1 : Yenappa idu, iStu dhooLu , yen bus hogathe mele ?
(There is so much of dust due to this construction . Will the buses ply over this ? )
Villager 2 : (The wise one) :Hu kaNla.. chik busgaLu avu , speed agi train thara hogtave.(yes, they are small buses that go like fast like a train.)
I was transfixed with the knowledge they have. No one to blame but the society!
Au revoir!

Tennis

Lawn tennis , called so because it is played on the lawn or rather grass. Wimbledon is the world's oldest class of tennis leagues and is one of the most prestigious ones. Australian, French and US open are the among the top.
Tennis is a world sport that is played even in the Olympics. It usually consists of two or four players playing against each other . The racquet is used to strike the ball onto the other side of the court.
The rules of the game be googled upon but here is my experience on this game .
January 2011 was the time I had to make some resolutions for the year and submit them promptly(even if I didn't follow them) to Vivsu. Learning to play tennis was one amongst them .It was just as any other resolution and I just ignored it in the beginning . It all started when a trainee posted that his racquet is for sale in the bulletin board of the office and I actually paid him 500 INR and purchased it without any bargain . He gave me 1 ball free along with it and I had this smug! "Voila! Gotcha .. bloody trainee .. you really don't know how to do business", is what I thought . Now that this racquet was lying back at home, I wanted to do something about it . I went to the extent of asking the HRs, a person called Rakhal who was in charge of tennis , persuading them to start tennis coaching classes which has stopped long back due to less number of people .
People sighed that she wants the DC coaching classes to be started for her "Second Hand" racquet . Now , who cares. I want and I really want it .
My coaching classes didn't go that well because of the odd timings, the behaviour of the the coaches and my laziness. Well I made friends there. One of them is an HR for trainees.Disappointed, poor me had to find some way to satisfy that small urge inside me to start learning and playing tennis .
It was then Vivsu introduced me to the "Cute pair" girl (I have just named her) . She got me into this Charan Academy of Tennis and I met a wonderful coach called Raghav .
I was irregular as usual. But I picked up a bit faster this time . I showed him the way my previous coach had taught me the forehand moves - Ready , Swing the racquet through a Ulta 'C' , Left leg front , whack the ball, and a windshield action or a follow through.

Raghav taught me how painful the wrist movement action was and I slowly started learning the traditional way of the follow through . I even wrote what I learned daily in notepad and tried to improve on my faults. I slowly learnt back hand move which I am bad at even today .
Back hand is played exactly the same as forehand but with a different grip .

Almost 3 months since I joined and then I was taught the 'volley' where the grip is similar to that of a handshake and we hit the ball almost near the net that is we block it. Volley is a critical move to get a winner point. The placement is very important though.

"Today is the day and it is going to happen again and again" . This is the confidence that this day brought to me in playing tennis . Today the 27th of June was not as usual a day for me in tennis . I rallied doubles with 2 guys in the morning in the clay court where it was drizzling . This rally was the best rally I have played till date. Raghav praised me that I have improved a lot and that was like a trophy for me. I recognised my mistakes as well . I told Raghav that I cant handle fast balls, and the depth of my shots were bad. He also praised me that I know what my mistakes are and that I am sincerely making an effort to learn it. Also, not to forget the new racquet - Babolat - that helped me get more confidence :) I was filled with happiness that I have achieved something in a short span and I went home with joy :)
Evening was the time when my manager asked me whether I could play with her. There were the initial days that I played with her when I knew nothing about tennis. I used to hit all the balls higher. My serves were pathetic. I used to hit myself for not playing well and I used to get hurt when she used to get pissed for every ball I missed. I almost stopped playing with her due to diffidence.
But again, today was the day where I was really astonished at myself. I played really really well. She could not attempt some of my shots , may be she had lost touch. But I was feeling really good inside. The way I played made me more and more confident. I still dint get an appraisal from her. I am waiting for that some day :)
Hopefully. And that would be my second trophy .
Its almost night now and I am still thinking of the way I played today. Today is the "tennis day" for me :). I am still feeling like moving my arms for forehand even though I am asleep on bed. Alright adios then, more on tennis sooner . :)
Great day.

Moosik
Well, this is my first write up . I don't want to make it too obvious by writing something really long or too short. Neither morose nor too excited. I love music . After Vivsu baby , it is the next thing that gives me happiness. So here is my first post .
Music is there everywhere. Yesterday when I went swimming with my brother Darshan called as Darshana (my lovely brother) , I just floated for a couple of minutes and felt the water. My head was immersed inside the water. I could hear nothing but absolute silence. The sound of water. Everything else was 'shhhhh' . It was a brilliant experience . There is some element of music in silence as well.
I got introduced to English songs by Vivsu baby. I was bored in the beginning but since I am mostly interested in the lyrics, I started liking even death metal. Believe it or not , I listen to death metal when I am pain . Negatives aside , Vivsu also taught me that music is not just in the tune or the lyrics but the background score which adds to the beauty of the song . Now , I like the drums, the beats the guitar pieces and the smallest things which we usually tend to not notice in a song .
Carnatic is what I had to master by now . My laziness made me shift through six different Gurus and now I am still in the Varnas (Gawd, I went to my first Carnatic class in my third standard when my grand parents forced me to). But still I appreciate Carnatic music even today . The songs of 'Morning Raga' movie, SPB's tunes of 'Ragam Taalam Pallavi' et al just make me jump with joy. Definitely not to forget MS's Suprabhatam . The Sanskrit version is just adorable.
Now coming to filmy. Scores of Sonu , Shreya and SPB are just too soothing to the ears . My favourites cannot be listed here . I rarely follow Hindi movies but Kannada songs are just too beautiful. If you want to get started with Kannada film music , I suggest you first hear the oldie goldies - 'Neerinalli aleya ungura','naguva nayana','nee muDida mallige hoovina maale', 'aakashadinda dharegiLida rambhe' which is Vivsu's favourite. I love this song too . Recent flicks being 'Maleyali jotheyali','Mungaru male'. OMG I seriously don't remember the songs. Its that big a list. I have actually avoided smileys from the beginning of this post. But I just can't help it . :) :) :)
Finally , my best :) Sugama Sangeetha . C.S Aswath brought into the industry a completely different perspective of the Sugama sangeetha with his incredible compositions. I heard that he was a perfectionist . His tune of 'Marali baa manvantharave' and 'Muktha' were just too brilliant. My sir Narahari Dixit just gave away hundreds of songs which I don't even remember.
The best of all times is 'Mysooru Mallige' by KSN .
Kudos to music. Will be more specific and elaborate in my next posts:)
